Indonesia leads in endangered languages worldwide!
According to a report published by Derivation.co in 2023, 3,078 languages were classified as endangered. More than 88 million people use endangered languages.
Out of the 25 rankings published, Indonesia tops the list with 425 endangered languages. Other Southeast Asian countries included in the ranking are Malaysia at 11th place with 82 languages, the Philippines at 16th place with 48 languages, and Vietnam at 24th place with 29 languages.
