Top 10 Countries by Forest Cover, 2024

Indonesia Among Top 10 Countries with Forest Cover Worldwide!

According to the United Nations (UN), forests cover 31% of the world’s land area. They absorb about 15.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) each year.

More than half of this green cover is spread across the boreal forests in Russia and Canada, the Amazon in South America, and the coniferous and broadleaf forests in China. These carbon-absorbing forests purify the air, filter water, prevent soil erosion, and play a crucial role as a buffer against climate change.
